Our son Maxton was diagnosed with left-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) at his 19 week ultrasound. Maxton was born on 3/3/09 at Vanderbilt University. He fought hard for 18 days but earned his wings on 3/21/09. Maxton was an inspiration to many during his brief time on earth and has forever changed our lives. If your child is diagnosed with CDH, please feel free to contact us. Maxton may no longer live here on earth, but he will live forever in our hearts...

Still Trying to Fight

Maxton is still trying to fight. When we got here around 6 he was in the middle of one of his episodes. We walked back to a room full of people and monitors beeping with levels falling. After about an hour and a half he is now "stable" again. Unfortunately, he is also on the maximum amount of support that they can do for him. Now, it is up to him. We know that he is a fighter and will do his best. We are praying that God be with him and fight along side him. We were told that at this time he has about a 30% chance of making it. We are praying like crazy that he doesn't have another episode during the night because there isn't anything they will be able to do. They did mention ECMO again. The brain bleeding is not any better, but it is also not any worse. They are not sure whether to do ECMO but will likely do it if he has another episode. Please pray for our little man. I can't imagine losing him as we both love him so very much. We are trying hard to stay positive and know that other babies have been in position and come through just fine. This gives us hope and we try to remember everyones stories when meeting with the doctors. We appreciate you all, more than words can ever say.

I have just found your story. I am the mother of a CDH Angel. I know exactly what you are going through right now, and I will say many prayers for your precious little fighter. Hang in there, and try to rest, even though I know that it is near impossible when your baby is so critical.

I will be thinking of you and your little fighter...

Lord please help Maxton get stable. He needs your help right now God. His little body is working overtime. Please carry him in your hands so he can get stable and then have his repair surgery. God at your mercy please help little Maxton.
Amen

my thoughts and prayers have been with you since the begining, and of course they continue. Maxton is a fighter and he is so strong. he has already touched more lives than most do their whole lives. keep on fighting Maxton, your mommy and daddy want so terribly to see you grow stronger and stronger. i hope you get peace tonight and a sence of warmth enlopes you, then you will know God is right beside you and Maxton and he is with you every step. God Bless!!

We are praying hard that Max will continue to fight and improve. I am thinking of you guys all day, knowing how rough this journey has been in the last few hours & days. It speaks vaolumes how much you love Max, and he feel that! I wish that this ride was a little less bumpy for you, but don't lose faith in what God can accomplish.

Hang in there Max--FIGHT!!!
